Does Aloe Vera Help Acne?

  • Aloe has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, which deep cleans the clogged pores of the skin. The gibberellins and polysaccharides present helps in the proper synthesis of collagen produced in the skin. This collagen is essential for a healthy skin. Aloe acts as an astringent and helps in cleaning the pores of the skin. It is also efficient in increasing cell growth and blood purification, which helps to heal damaged skin. It locks the moisture of the skin and makes it look younger.

How to Use Aloe Vera for Acne

1. Tea Tree Oil and Aloe Vera for Acne

  • In a small bowl mix together 5 to 6 drops of tea tree oil and 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed aloe vera gel.
  • Make a smooth paste. Wash your face with your regular face wash and pat it dry.
  • Apply the paste with your fingers.
  • Let it rest for 30 minutes so that it soaks into the skin.
  • Wash it off with cold water.
  • Repeat the process regularly.

2. Drinking Aloe Vera for Acne

You can make this aloe drink when you have that stubborn acne that just won’t go away.

  • Put together 3 to 4 tablespoons of freshly extracted aloe gel, 1 cup of water, 2 to 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
  • Blend all these ingredients into a smooth paste and pour it into a glass.
  • You need to consume this drink at once for best results.
  • Repeat this drink daily for proper results.

3. Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera for Acne

  • Take a small bowl and mix together 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel/sap with 2 teaspoons of coconut oil. Make a smooth paste.
  • Clean your face with your regular face wash and pat it dry.
  • Now gently apply the face pack on the acne affected areas using your fingers.
  • Leave it to dry and then wash with warm water.
  • Apply this pack regularly for at least two weeks to see changes.

4. Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera for Acne

  • Take a small container or a small glass bottle
  • Pour 7to 8 tablespoons of witch hazel extracts, 3 tablespoons of aloe gel and a few drops of your favorite essential oil.
  • Close the bottle and shake it well.
  • Clean your face with your regular face wash and pat it dry.
  • Using a clean cotton ball apply this mixture on your acne.
  • Let it rest on your face as long as you want it to. Later wash your face with cold water.

5. Turmeric and Aloe Vera for Acne

  • Take a bowl and mix together 2 to 3 tablespoon of aloe vera gel, 2 to 3 teaspoons of turmeric powder, and 1 ½ teaspoons of chick pea or gram flour.
  • Make a very smooth paste with these ingredients.
  • Clean your face with your regular face wash and pat it dry.
  • Apply the paste with your fingers.
  • Let it rest for 30 minutes so that it soaks into the skin.
  • Wash it off with cold water.
  • Repeat the process thrice a week.

6. Aloe Vera and Vitamin E for Acne Scars

  • Mix together 2 tablespoons of aloe gel with the oil from 1 Vitamin E capsule.
  • Make a smooth paste.
  • Clean your face with your regular face wash and pat it dry.
  • Apply the paste with your fingers.
  • Let it rest for an hour or you can apply this pack overnight and let it remain for the night.
  • Wash it with cold water in the morning.
  • Repeat till acne are gone.

7. Aloe Vera and Honey for Acne

  • Blend together 4 tablespoons of aloe extract, 3 to 4 walnuts, and 1 tablespoon of honey and make a fine paste.
  • Clean your face with your regular face wash and pat it dry.
  • Apply the paste on affected areas with your fingers.
  • Let it rest for at least 20 minutes for the gel to set in.
  • Wash the pack off with lukewarm water and pat it dry.
  • Repeat this process 3to 4 times a week.
