Metabolism is a chemical process in our body, which can be described as the rate of burning calories you eat each day. Each organism has a different metabolism. Some of us eat more but always are weak and in good shape, and some even limiting themselves have problems with weight.
In weak metabolism, calories are burned more slowly in the body, and some remain in the body. While high we can eat many calories to break down much faster. There are people who inherit a speedy metabolism by their parents. Research shows that men tend to burn more calories than women, even while resting. Popular belief is that after 40 years of age our metabolism slows down. Although we can not control age, gender or genes, there are other ways to regulate metabolism. Here they are:
Taking more water and other liquids
Water can boost our metabolism so it’s nice a day to drink 6 to 8 glasses in summer days even more. We must not forget that at the slightest dehydration of the body will slow down your metabolism. For example, drinking cold water before eating shrinks the stomach and makes us fuller faster.
Eating every 3 hours
It’s nice to not skip meals during the day. It is better to eat between 4 and 6 times a day, during 3 h. This will help metabolic processes, otherwise, you’ll accumulate more excess fat. When we eat heavy meals with more space between them, the metabolism also slows down. Smaller and lighter portions, alternating shorter intervals are preferable, because then burn more calories.
